Difference among nickel plating, zinc platng and chrome plating

- Apr 16, 2018 -

Common difference among nickel plating, zinc platng and chrome plating are as follows:

  1. Nickel plating, zinc plating and chrome plating are all used on metal surface.

2. The difference in nickel plating, zinc platingg and chromium plating are as follows:

A. chromium plating is mainly to improve the surface hardness, beauty and rust protection. Chromium coating has good chemical stability, and it does not occur in alkali, sulfide, nitric acid and most organic acids, but can be dissolved in hydrohalic acid (such as hydrochloric acid) and hot sulphuric acid. Because chromium does not change color, it can maintain its reflectivity for a long time and is better than silver and nickel. The process is generally electroplating.

B. Nickel plating is mainly wear-resistant, corrosion resistant, anti rust, the general thickness is thin, the technology is divided into electroplating and chemical two kinds.

C. Zinc platng is mainly aesthetic antirust. Zn is a reactive metal, it can react with acid, so it has poor corrosion resistance. It is the cheapest of the three.
