From Papua New Guinea, the Pacific island country of the Southern Hemisphere, to Brunei, the Pearl Island of Kalimantan, to the Philippines, the Thousand Islands Country, this is a journey to and fro more than 15,000 kilometers across the ocean. The vast Pacific Ocean has recorded an extraordinary day of significance.
From November 15 to 21, 2018, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the three beautiful countries in the Pacific Ocean and attended the 26th APEC Leaders'Informal Meeting in Port Moresby, the new capital of Pakistan. He also held cordial meetings with Pacific Island leaders who established diplomatic relations.
This is a friendship, cooperation and open cross-ocean journey, an extension of the "Maritime Silk Road" to the deep Pacific Ocean, and another warm embrace between China and friendly countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
