On April 19th, President Xi Jinping and the British Prime Minister Teresa Metone spoke on the phone.
Xi Jinping pointed out that when the prime minister visited China early this year, we have reached an important consensus on deepening the "golden age" of Sino British Relations and agreed to further enhance the strategic, pragmatic, global and inclusive relationship of the two countries, and jointly lead the Chinese and British relations. China is willing to work with the British side to strengthen macroeconomic policy coordination and communication, maintain high-level exchanges and communication mechanism, promote the "The Belt and Road" under the framework of pragmatic cooperation, for the Sino British Relations "golden age" and provide more opportunities to accelerate. I hope the British side will contribute more positive energy to the development of bilateral relations. As a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, the two sides should continue to deepen international cooperation and make greater contributions to the construction of a new international relationship with mutual respect, fairness and justice, a win-win cooperation and the construction of a community of human destiny.
Teresa May said that the British side supports China's free trade and open economy as well as China. The British side is willing to maintain communication with China on relevant international and regional issues.
